AVOIDING MISSTEPS IN INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS ==========================================================================
Responsiveness to a complaint and an investigation generally yield the best information and evidence. Considering any complaint has the potential to become a lawsuit, employers should investigate each case in a manner which will prepare to be presented to a court of law, if necessary.

This session will highlight how to "Avoid Missteps in Internal Investigations"

Participant Learning Objectives:

- Clarify when an employer should conduct an internal investigation and the importance of investigations

- Examine best approaches for conducting internal investigations, including investigation preparation planning, how to conduct witness interviews, and summarizing findings

- Address confidentiality and privilege concerns associated with internal investigation
