==========================================================================

Workplace violence incidents can range from physical assaults to robbery or homicide. Too many workers encounter workplace violence which is the second leading cause of occupational injury. Tragically, one out of every five occupational fatalities occur as a result of violence in the workplace, which has created significant concern for OSHA, employers and employees.

Under federal law, regulated by OSHA, employers have an obligation to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards. ļ¾ Since awareness is the best line of defense, this session will provide insight from OSHA's perspective and indicate resources available for implementing workplace violence prevention strategies.

Participant Learning Objectives:
- Determine Legal and Regulatory Obligations Regarding Workplace Violence and Prevention
- Identify and Assess Workplace Violence Risk at Your Work Location
- Discuss Education, Training and Strategies for Preventing Workplace Violence
- Examine Best Practices to Develop and Implement Workplace Violence Prevention Programs
